MARCH 2006: SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:

The scholarship program slated for November 2005 was re-scheduled for the school year 2006-2007 since the 200-2006 was almost completed.

The female scholarship selection criteria was as follows;

• Female are victims of the 11 year old Maoist conflict.
• Either the father and/or mother have been killed, kidnapped or have disappeared without a trace.
• Either the father and/or mother have been seriously mained by the Maoists and/or Nepalese Army.
• The school is within a radius that the Nepal Director can visit safely and assure continued monitoring and educational support to the student.

The Female Students Choosen are listed in Project 1

Since IWEN has awarded these 10 scholarships, IWEN has assumed responsibility for the continuation of these 10 girl's education until completion of highschool. This is IWEN's "First Priority Scholarship Program."
