IWEN Nepal Team
Michelle Bonneau
Director, International Programs
Michelle Bonneau is our fearless on-the-ground program instigator. Working in Nepal to educate women was Michelle's dream, and we are very proud of her courage and tenacity to make things happen.
Deepa Chaudhary
Field Mobilizer
We are especially grateful for the work of Deepa, who was once an indentured daughter herself. Deepa works to identify and educate at-risk villages and families, and facilitates agreements with the families to work with IWEN and choose education over slavery.
Sarita Chaudhary
Field Co-ordinator
As a 9 year old bonded labourer, it was seeing the master's children go to private schools while she was made to work all day that gave Sarita the desire and will for her own education. Knowing the importance of education, Sarita is now working on her Bachelor's degree in Rural Development.
With extensive experience with Tharu women's groups and development organizations, Sarita oversees the on-going development of the Mothers Micro-Credit programs.
Dinesh Raj Sapkota: Masters - English Literature
Creating Possibilities - Program Manager
Dinesh is the Program Manager in Nepal for both IWEN and our facilitating partner, Creating Possibilities. He oversees all program operations and works very closely with our Board of Directors in Canada.
Nura Basnet: BA - Business
Administrative Assistant / Finance Officer

Nura is Dinesh's right hand and is responsible for many administrative tasks that support all the programs. Her enthusiasm for IWEN's mission makes her a valuable asset in the Nepal Office. Nura's versatility regarding her networking and presentation skills as well as her financial background have rounded out the team excellently.
