About IWEN Canada
IWEN, the Inter-Cultural Women's Educational Network, is a non-profit, registered charity, directed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Since 2005 IWEN has provided educational scholarships for over 259 females in rural Nepal and Kathamdu Valley through the generosity of IWEN sponsors. As well IWEN works with immigrant women in the Okanagan Valley that are in need of vocational support and training.
IWEN has three Neplese partners that are registered Non-Government Organizations [NGOs] with the Nepal Ministry of Women and Children. These partners are under the Social Welfare Council who monitors all NGOs' activities. IWEN partners are:
Creating Possibilities-Nepal [CP] is IWEN's Facilitating Partner who works in collaboration with the Country Director. CP monitors all of IWEN's programs and reports directly to IWEN Board in Kelowna, BC. CP is responsible for the Indentured/Bonded Girls Program.
Sungava implements the Mentally Challenged Females Program through its Sungava Institute.
